A Little Bit About Me...

I am a former Social Worker from the Foster Care system. I realized thern I wanted to work with children, but more as an educator. I have been tutoring in World History since I was 18 years old through a group known as The Society For Creative Anachronism. I tutor mostly in Human Service type classes on a college level, english and history on a high school level. I also work with special needs children from K-12.
I try to make each lesson unique for my various learners. I have been known to teach in historical clothing, using props from the time period and a smattering of words in other languages. I also incorporate hands on learning such as crafts and some food making. I believe if a method is not working for my students, I change my approach. I have tutored English as a Second/Other Language on a volunteer basis, as well as a paying one. I speak French fluently, however American English is my native tongue. I also have experience tutoring Latin I and II; and Spanish (any high school level, up to intermediate college/university level).

I have always enjoyed teachng and tutoring others, even from an early stage in life. I had my first pupil when I was 15 years old and have also been very much influenced by a famous or distinguished professors during my academic career. I look forward to being able to teach and help others int he same way.
