I have sixteen years of experience teaching science to middle and high school students. I've taught Earth-space science, Biology(Life Science), and Physical Science. I also have experience teaching English composition and Algebra(trigonometry).
In addition, I experienced success teaching students that had been previously unsuccessfull in mastering grade level science, English, and math due to low motivation and self-esteem. Furthermore, I've worked with students of all
ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Finally, I've studied digital,
and analog electronics for two years which enabled me to apply my mathmetical knowledge and skills. I believe in earning the trust of my students before I'm able to teach them. I earn their trust by trying to understand who they are and what interests them. After learning as much as I can about my students, I tell them a little about myself: what I like to d

Lacey C - Jacksonville, FL 32210 (12.7 mi) - Chemical Engineering Tutor - $37.50/hr.
I have been at Fccj for a little over two years. I have studied and mastered a variety of subjects. I am starting JU next summer to earn my BSN. I currently have my AA degree in nursing.I've spent a lot of time in the student life and leadership department that works one on one with students to help them with college success. I would say that my teaching style varies depending onthe person I am teaching. There are several ways that people respond to in order for them to understand. I thik that everyone has a unique teaching style but still needs to be flexible in order to help the student understand.

Kurt C - ST. AUGUSTINE, FL 32086 (27.6 mi) - Chemical Engineering Tutor - $36.50/hr.
After sub teaching the last couple of years I have found most kids want to learn but need a lot of "structure". If their personal "structure" isn't there it is difficult for them. This is also true for kids who are advanced. I believe in no cell phones, electronic devices, and trying to figure out what each child strengths and weaknesses are and then use those strengths to help them learn. I am not against having background music playing during homework time because it doesn't bother other children. It is a problem however in the classroom. I am currently waiting for my certification from the Florida Department of Education, to teach math from grades 6 to 12, and chemistry from grades 6 to 12.
I was a substitute teacher in the Folsom Cordova School District in California during the 2007-2008 school year. I am currently working a substitute teacher in the Flagler County, Florida School D
