Experience Summary
I have sixteen years of experience teaching science to middle and high school students. I've taught Earth-space science, Biology(Life Science), and Physical Science. I also have experience teaching English composition and Algebra(trigonometry).
In addition, I experienced success teaching students that had been previously unsuccessfull in mastering grade level science, English, and math due to low motivation and self-esteem. Furthermore, I've worked with students of all
ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Finally, I've studied digital,
and analog electronics for two years which enabled me to apply my mathmetical knowledge and skills.
Teaching Style
I believe in earning the trust of my students before I'm able to teach them. I earn their trust by trying to understand who they are and what interests them. After learning as much as I can about my students, I tell them a little about myself: what I like to do, where I grew up, and some of my accomplishments.
As time passes, I use my life and teaching experience to help my
students understand concepts, principals, and procedures. Example: I like to encourage my students to make illustrations,
diagrams, and charts to help them understand fractions, human
anatomy, or English compostion.
In conclusion, I strive to motivate my students by giving them
positive reinforcement and praise.
