At the undergraduate level, as a high honors student, I took the opportunity to tutor psychology and biology undergraduates. I also received a TA position for Research Methods in psychology. I also volunteered for 2 years mentoring underprivileged Junior HS students. I continued to teach and tutor when I entered grad school. I received two TA positions, one teaching general biology labs and another teaching anatomy and physiology labs. In my second year of graduate school, I worked at a science and math magnet school for HS students, managing student projects in the animal labs. As a gradute of the College of Creative Arts at West Virginia University, I was given the opportunity to learn and experience all aspects of the music education program. I earned my bachelor degree in Music Education and taught private lessons for a part time job to help put myself through school. I am currently in my fifth year of teaching and have experience in general music and middle school band. I love working with kids of all ages and enjoy the process as much as the final outcome.
