Sofie V. - Ann Arbor, MI 48103 (26.5 mi) - Italian Tutor - $35.00/hr.
I have a Master's Degree in Translation of French/Italian/Dutch. After that I got my Italian diploma to teach Italian language and culture. I also have a Belgium teacher's certificate. I've been teaching Italian to adults, which is quiet a challenge. But I also taught French to teenagers ( ages 12-17), which is even more of a challenge. I loved doing it! I also have tutoring experience, I helped a girl prepare for her exams and got her into a program in which she had the opportunity to go to Italy. Buongiorno! I am an Italian teacher living in Michigan and I enjoy teaching my native tongue in America! I have been teaching Italian since I arrived here. I am currently working for several International Companies in the Metro Detroit area. I have been teaching adult and children classes at a worldwide Italian language and cultural Institute in Birmingham. In addition to this, I teach privately to children and adults.
I spent 30 years in Italy, for personal reasons I moved to Michigan last year. I got a Master's degree in Comparative Literatures at the Università Degli Studi di Torino and a Bachelor's degree in Italian Studies at the Università degli Studi di Pavia (both in Italy), where I have studied deeply Italian and Latin classic authors as well as linguistics. Additionally, I have studied French and English, and I am fluent in both.
I look forward to hearing from you an

Luc T - Ypsilanti, MI 48197 (17.8 mi) - Italian Tutor - $42.00/hr.
I can't really say I have a style since I believe in adapting to the student(s) in front of me. Everybody is unique, so I must use different techniques to convey the same message to different students. I am very patient, I try to have my student thinking with me on the journey to find the answer. I can't give the answer away otherwise that student may never learn. My tutoring experience started my sophmore year of college, as I was attending EMU. It started in the classroom, helping out classmates, etc. From that moment, people started to ask me for a help on a daily basis. That is when study groups were created, where I would either tutor a group of people or one individual at a time on weekends.
I am still tutoring some middle and high schoolers in math and science. I also tutor now college students in Spanish and French.

Hans F - Ann Arbor, MI 48104 (25.3 mi) - Italian Tutor - $52.00/hr.
I am a very easy-going individual; I don't like to push too much but am encouraging. The way I think teaching Italian works best is to make associations with the English language. The two languages are so heavily intertwined, but not at face value. After learning Italian, my knowledge of English is much more profound. Tutoring is very rewarding to me and making a difference in someone's life is important. While at Wayne State University, I studied Geography, Urban Studies and the Italian language. When I graduated, I held a BA in Geography with minors in Urban Studies and Italian. During my education at Wayne, as I gained a good knowledge of the Italian language, I started to tutor lower-level students. In the end, I tutored Italian for one and a half years.

To begin with, my teaching style focuses on educating the child based on his or her learning style and infusing curriculum into contexts that make sense to the learner. It is crucial for the instructor to be able to curtail instruction based on attentive listening and observation.
In addition, I enjoy the excitement of the "aha" moments the learner has when the material "clicks." It is truly a reward to pass on knowledge in a meaningful way - as much to the learner as to the teacher. In summation, my experience spans a large range of age groups, beginning from toddlers through the Elementary grade levels. I am currently working as a pre-school teacher in a 3-4 year old room for Chiltime Learning Centers. I have also taught toddlers and pre-school, as well as kindergarten as an assistant teacher at U of M Dearborn's ECEC,and participated in a student teaching experience with 3rd gra
