Experience Summary
Buongiorno! I am an Italian teacher living in Michigan and I enjoy teaching my native tongue in America! I have been teaching Italian since I arrived here. I am currently working for several International Companies in the Metro Detroit area. I have been teaching adult and children classes at a worldwide Italian language and cultural Institute in Birmingham. In addition to this, I teach privately to children and adults.
I spent 30 years in Italy, for personal reasons I moved to Michigan last year. I got a Master's degree in Comparative Literatures at the Università Degli Studi di Torino and a Bachelor's degree in Italian Studies at the Università degli Studi di Pavia (both in Italy), where I have studied deeply Italian and Latin classic authors as well as linguistics. Additionally, I have studied French and English, and I am fluent in both.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you to achieve your goals!
Teaching Style
Since I have attended ESL classes in the past, I know very well how challenging it is studying a foreign language and being fluent in it. Both as a student and as a teacher I am aware that consistency in exercising and recurring tests are fundamental to achieve the learning goals. The tools I generally recommend, and use myself to teach Italian to adult people, are grammar books, websites, newspapers and television.
Other Comments
I have more than 3 years of experience teaching Italian to people of every age. From this experience, I can assure you that I can be the right person to help you as long as you are committed to studying irregular verbs and different vowel sounds. If you are willing to be open, you can open up your mind to a whole new world.
