I started out my teaching career as a reading specialist for struggling readers in grades 1 through 6. I am trained in a program called Next Steps, which was designed by educators at the University of Utah, for readers below grade level. All of the students that I tutored saw significant improvements in reading and writing by the end of the school year. I then moved on to become a regular first grade teacher for two years. During this time, I was able to further hone my skills in making learning fun and engaging. I believe this is the key to helping students do well in school. While I taught full time I had a part time job as a martial arts instructor for children aged 3 to 17, which eventually became my full-time career. I took many Art classes in which I excelled at. I then took some Computer Technology classes and I loved it. So I figured I would put the two together and took Graphic Design classes. I loved it. I am very competent in using all sorts of Graphic Design programs. I got my first guitar around 8 years ago and just picked it up and learned it. I have been learning ever since.
