I like to make my tutoring sessions productive by encouraging students to work hard to complete the taste in order to receive a reward in the form of a game or something they enjoy doing. I am very thorough in correcting assignments and make sure they fully understand the concept they are working on. I am very helpful in stimulating critical thinking for creative writing assignments. I have experience with pre k to 8th grade tutoring in Math and English tutoring to help students prepare for Iolani and Punahou entrance exams through Dr. Takahashi Juku. I can sculpt clay. I have practice in ceramic hand building and figure sculpture. I like to teach the basics and then let the student develop his or her own style. I have been drawing, painting, and making crafts since I was little. I have taken many different art classes throughout high school and college, learning at least the basics in many different mediums. I worked at a Summer Fun for 4 years as a leader and taught children ages 4-11 various arts and crafts. I also worked for 2 years as a ceramics teacher to children ages 5-10.

I'm a 25 year professional accountant with a CPA license in CAlifornia and Hawaii. I attended public schools and local community college before going on to graduate with high honors from the University of Hawaii. I moved to the mainland and worked full-time while obtaining my masters degree from USC. I've helped my 19 year old son through high school (he has a learning disability in math) and my 21 year old daughter with her business classes. Both my parents were teachers and I enjoyed teaching as well. I've had good teachers and I know how important it is to be a student of your students and to know your stuff so that you can be effective as a teacher.
