I am experienced in creating and teaching art to students ages 5+. I graduated with my degrees in Fine Arts and K-12 Education, with a minor in Art History, in the Spring of 2012 from William Paterson University of NJ. I can teach students how to create drawings in various media (using graphite, ink, color pencil, charcoal, cante, etc.) as well as teach extensive sculpting techniques in ceramic, stone, and metal. In addition I am also experienced in teaching painting with acrylic, water colors, gouache, and tempera. Anyone can be taught anything as long as they are sincere in learning that thing. There is no one style of teaching that works for everyone. I attended public schools and local community college before going on to graduate with high honors from the University of Hawaii. I moved to the mainland and worked full-time while obtaining my masters degree from USC. I've helped my 19 year old son through high school (he has a learning disability in math) and my 21 year old daughter with her business classes. When I was a freshman in college, I knew that my future was in my hands. I befriended and contacted my chemistry professor and zoology advisor. I worked in both of their labs, and I was only a freshman! By studying in their research groups, I gained the experience necessary to intern at Sea Life Park Hawaii. In fact, I was published in 2007 after working for Dr. Charlie Cox in the Chemistry Department. Recognizing the need for more hands-on research experience, I found another opportunity with another professor in cellular biology.
