I am experienced in creating and teaching art to students ages 5+. I graduated with my degrees in Fine Arts and K-12 Education, with a minor in Art History, in the Spring of 2012 from William Paterson University of NJ. I can teach students how to create drawings in various media (using graphite, ink, color pencil, charcoal, cante, etc.) as well as teach extensive sculpting techniques in ceramic, stone, and metal. In addition I am also experienced in teaching painting with acrylic, water colors, gouache, and tempera. I understand that art is a highly visual field, therefore I demonstrate all techniques while giving verbal directions to ensure the highest level of student understanding. I am patient and caring and work with the student to ensure that the student fully understands all of the material covered.

I am experienced in both oil and acryclic painting. I can teach how to hand stretch canvases. I like to teach the basics and then let the student develop his or her own style. I have been drawing, painting, and making crafts since I was little. I have taken many different art classes throughout high school and college, learning at least the basics in many different mediums. I worked at a Summer Fun for 4 years as a leader and taught children ages 4-11 various arts and crafts. I also worked for 2 years as a ceramics teacher to children ages 5-10.

When I was a freshman in college, I knew that my future was in my hands. I befriended and contacted my chemistry professor and zoology advisor. I worked in both of their labs, and I was only a freshman! By studying in their research groups, I gained the experience necessary to intern at Sea Life Park Hawaii. In fact, I was published in 2007 after working for Dr. Charlie Cox in the Chemistry Department. Recognizing the need for more hands-on research experience, I found another opportunity with another professor in cellular biology.
