I have two bachelor degrees, one in Zoology with an emphasis in Chemistry, the other degree in Psychology. While obtaining my first degree I taught anatomy lab at the university level. I also tutored anatomy for the office of students with disabilities. While earning my second degree I was asked to tutor by a professor for students in my class that happened to also be associated with the disabilities office. I also started a math and reading lab for at-risk youth at a local middle school in Ogden, Utah. I really enjoy teaching. I am trying to get my Ph.D. so that I can teach at the university level. I feel rewarded when I can see a student realize that they are comprehending and working on their own with confidence. I strive to make sure that the student is the one doing the work and learning. A recent graduate in biomedical engineering from the University of Miami, I have worked as a tutor for high school and college students for the past three years. From my many years of teaching experience, I have adopted a few different teaching styles due to the fact that every student learns differently. For instance, some students are very slow learners and some aren't, obviously; and so I may use a different approach based on the student(s) or class I happen to be teaching at the time. I am very flexible when it comes to teaching, and I like to get feedback from my students from time to time, making sure that it's working and they are learning the material like they are supposed to. I am very passionate, very patient and very good when it comes to teaching.
