My culmination of experiences over the past twenty years has allowed me to acquire a vast array of knowledge and experiences. As a school counselor, academic, vocational, social, and personal development were the key areas of focus. During my years as an undergraduate English major, I was drawn to the world of teaching and tutoring through two part-time positions, including one on-campus, with college-aged students, and one with elementary to high school-aged students. I loved seeing my students' pleasure at learning how to comprehend the words they read, to assimilate that information into an in-depth college essay, to finally grasp that one bit of knowledge that so alluded them. I taught students with learning and behavioral disabilities, and was good at my job (and loved it).
