A Little Bit About Me...

My culmination of experiences over the past twenty years has allowed me to acquire a vast array of knowledge and experiences. As a school counselor, academic, vocational, social, and personal development were the key areas of focus. These unique experiences were facilitated through classroom activities, individual and small group counseling, and consultation with parents, staff, and community resources. More About This Tutor...

During my years as an undergraduate English major, I was drawn to the world of teaching and tutoring through two part-time positions, including one on-campus, with college-aged students, and one with elementary to high school-aged students. I loved seeing my students' pleasure at learning how to comprehend the words they read, to assimilate that information into an in-depth college essay, to finally grasp that one bit of knowledge that so alluded them. I taught students with learning and behavioral disabilities, and was good at my job (and loved it). During the last seven years, I have tutored students in writing, English literature, reading, reading comprehension, psychology, the arts, anthropology, and study skills. I have taught all subject areas to middle school students, grades 6-8, and taught English literature and writing to 9th and 11th graders.
