A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and interacting with willing minds. Teaching "runs in the blood", where my mother is an excellent teacher in the Huntsville City School District, my father was a former teacher and all of my aunts and uncles functions or functioned in some teaching capacity. I believe that teaching should be made enjoyable and not laborious. The goal of teaching is to relate concepts and principles in such a way that a pupil is able to apply appropriately those principles in any situation that he/she may be confronted with whether in life or in a test. My joy is seeing a student excel and gain confidence in their ability to learn and to be tested on what they have learned.

Teaching is my passion. Students need to be challenged, engaged, and eager to learn which is fueled by the enthusiasm of the teacher. I recognize that not every student in my classroom learns in the same manner. Various teaching methods need to be combined so that students have the opportunity to learn in multiple ways. The more opportunities that are available for a student to learn, the more valuable the education becomes for the student. Therefore, the most successful teaching technique is one that involves a variety of different methods where relevance is the umbrella in order to accommodate every student's unique learning style and needs inside and outside of the classroom.
