I have over 30 years experience with Special Education. From 2002 - 2011 I was lead teacher in a Comprehensive Developmental Classroom K-2. It was during that time in my search to be an effective teacher that I found Dr. Svetlana Masgutova PH.D. "MasgutovaMethod.com". As educators we are taught to only look at the brain as the source of intellect, that is, the cortex or higher order thinking part of the brain. My understanding now is that if there is a problem with protection and survival (brain stem) we have to correct that in first order because it is the ultimate foundation for higher order thinking.
