My comments on tutoring Sociology : It is my college minor.

Hands-on and talk-through methods. I am open to other styles.
I was a ABA therapist for a company around the Fort Campbell, Ky area for over a year. I worked with special needs children, emphasis on autism. I volunteered at a Fort Campbell school and also worked as a substitute teacher. I was TriCare approved at my last job. I am currently attending college to receive my Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I have less than one year to graduate. I have been working with school systems on special education for about three years.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love tutoring students because through my experience I have learned that one on one time can be really beneficial to all students. During this time I am able to really talk with students to figure out what their specific needs are. I can also help students learn specific study and reading skills. Through my experience, I have seen the most improvement with students when they have one on one time with their tutor or teacher.
I graduated from Mount Union College in May 2006 with a BA in History and a double minor in Adoloescent to Young Adult Education and American Studies. Throughout high school I was a teacher's assistant helping with students in class during my study halls as well as working one on one with students for extra study skills. In the past few years I have tutored students in elemtary math, middle school reading and writing, and even my own students before and after ... read more

I enjoy teaching and working with all students and children. I am a caring, patient, and self-motivated Tutor with more than three years of experience. I have immense working knowledge of students in an academic environment and have outstanding communication and problem solving skills. I realize that some students may face common challenges during their learning journey. Developing a better understanding of these challenges, as well as techniques to address them, helps them move forward faster when these challenges arise. I also find that rather than seeing mistakes negatively, I teach my students to learn to see them as steps towards your goals.I strive to make a positive difference in all of my students' lives.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am always driven to do my very best. This has been indicated as I earned mostly A's in all subjects. I have worked in the business world in marketing and I know the value of education. I have a Masters Degree in Teaching. I am currently an EC teacher. I am shocked at the number of students who do not have the basic skills in reading, writing, math, science and social studies but yet the school system continues to pass them to the next grade without these skills. During the past five years, I have worked as an EC resource teacher in both elementary and middle schools. I am licensed to teach K-12 EC.
I love working with children. I believe that all children can learn, but each child learns in a different way. In order to help a student, you must find out how they learn. You also must find their passion. With this information (passion and learning style), you can help any ... read more

I earned two bachelor degrees from the University of North Carolina in December of 2007. From there, I chose to move to Massachusetts to participate in a ground breaking fellowship at MATCH Charter Public High School. I chose this alternate route to receiving teaching certification because of the classroom experience it provided me. In addition to earning certification and completing student teaching hours, I tutored for 20-30 hours a week in all subject areas in grades 9, 10, and 11. My favorite subjects to tutor are reading, writing, history, and biology.
I am a passionate teacher and tutor. I believe that there is not a minute to waste when working with youth, and I like to conduct vigorous tutorials and well-paced classes. I believe that everyone has a different learning style, and this is why tutoring is such an integral supplement to classroom teaching. I enjoy getting to kno ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is fairly laid back. I believe that all students possess the potential to learn. Teaching should be done in a multisensory method to appeal to students' senses and to help them succeed as best as they can. Each student is an individual and should be treated with respect. The learning environment that teachers provide should be nurturing, structured, and interesting to allow for students to reach their full potentials. While every student may have some weaknesses, concentrating on a student's strengths is important to help them enjoy school and find success.

A Little Bit About Me...

During my time as an undergraduate I was blessed with the opportunity of tutoring others. I have earned one bachelor degree, BS in Biology with and emphasis in genetics. Along with my bachelors I have obtained two minors as well, one chemistry and the other in sociology. Due to this background I was able to excel in teaching others the fundamentals of biology. Partaking in research, working on lab reports and spending numerous nights in the lab have benefited me in that I am well versed in all aspects of the life sciences.
In the beginning being a doctor was all that I desired. Helping others, tending to their wounds and etc was my dream. It wasn't until I had the honor of tutoring others that I realized, my passion to teach was equally as strong as my passion for medicine. I feel no child is incapable of learning. More About This Tutor...

As an elementary school teacher and as a college instructor, I have strived to teach and reach my students by engaging the students in the process of learning. As a second grade teacher, the strategies I employed including assessing the strengths, weaknesses and interests of each student, forming small groups in order to maximize opportunities for individualized instruction, and emphasizing participatory instruction that engaged the students in active learning. I believe that many students respond when instructors treat them with respect and set high, clear and consistent expectations. I believe that the key to learning for many students is sparking an interest in the subject matter, and whenever possible relating the material to the student’s own life and experiences. An effective teacher must employ a variety of strategies in order to meet the specific needs of each student.

I love to teach and I get excited when I help a student whose performance was bad before I started teaching him/her but significantly improved after I started teaching them. It is very enjoyable for me and currently I just do it voluntarily for part-time. However, the best thing I like about teaching is that you are shaping the future of young children and helping them excel in areas in which they are struggling.
I have always been interested in teaching. I have taught for a couple of months as a full-time teacher in Franklin County's Middle School. I have been doing part-time voluntary tutoring for the last three years teaching math, physics, chemistry, computers, and foreign language. I also participate in National Engineer's Week conducted by IBM in which engineers go to different middle and high schools and teach kids about the latest technology fields in engineering, and the ... read more

I learned through visual aid. So, I guess I would lean towards this style of teaching. However, if a student learns better with audio aid then I would be willing to combine the two methods to better educate the student. My goal is to provide the best education possible and to suceed in that is to have great communication and alittle fun doing the work that is expected.
I have not taught anyone or tutored anyone for money. However, I would like to have the oppitunity to be able to tutor children or young adults on their way of the journey of life. I too was tutored going through school and not just once. I attended Sylvin Learning Center every other year since sixth grade. It helped me understand the areas that I didnt and excel in the areas I did. I would like to give thas opportunity to someone else.

As the oldest of three children, I have informally tutored for many years. While pursuing my undergraduate degree, I worked with a community college student and aided him in passing his Algebra course. My interests in education are diverse. I have a liberal arts degree which drew heavily upon my writing skills. Additionally, I was completing my prerequisites for medical school which required math and science analytical skills. Before beginning medical school, I spent several months in Guatemala learning Spanish. I then worked for a year at a boarding school for learning disabled children and tutored these students in math, English and science.
