My approach is simple: assess the student's academic weaknesses, review the strengths, then teach the new material in order to bridge the content or skill. "Scaffolding" is the best means by which to teach so that the student understands the significance of the lesson. Too often, teachers play sage-on-stage, thereby neglecting to connect what the student already knows with the new material.

Need Piano Lessons?

Learning can be fun!!

When tutoring, I strive to make lessons engaging, effective and enjoyable. I have been teaching for 12 years. I began teaching after graduating from the University of Berkeley with a Bachelors in Sociology.
