Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I am currently working as an American Sign Language Interpreter in Tennessee and the surrounding areas. I have an Educational Interpreting Performance Assessment (EIPA) of 3.4 and hold a B.S. in American Sign Language Interpreting from Tennessee Temple University. I have tutoring experience with the language. I also specialize in ASL Interpreting in Educational settings.

After studying American Sign Language for 4 years I received my B.S. degree in American Sign Language Interpreting from Tennessee Temple University. I went on to receive a 3.4 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment and received my National Interpreter Certification- Written. I have Interpreted in a wide array of settings from Mental Health to Education; Education being my specialty. I have worked with the Deaf-Blind community as a Support Service Provider(SSP)as well as an Interpreter. I have 2 years experience tutoring students in American Sign Language ranging from elementary school to college level students. My comments on tutoring Sign Language : Studying to become a sign language interpreter. Set to graduate this year

Sign language interpreter is what I am getting my college degree in. Am still learning but I do know a lot, as learning a new language takes a while. Sign language is something that I really enjoy. I've interpreter things from work, nothing big but still experience. I've completed ASL 1-4. Almost done with my degree as a sign language interpreter.

I attended Middle Tennessee State University from spring 1993-fall 1997, graduating in Dec. 1997 (B.S. degree). My major is art educ., my minor is secondary educ. My teaching license was in art educ./K-12. I was a member of The Gamma Beta Phi Society, the top 15% of my class. My gpa was 3.2 and I won two scholarships. I did my student teaching at the Lebanon High and at the Las Cassas Elementary Schools in fall 1997. I taught art at Mt. Juliet Elementary School, and taught private adult & children’s art classes at An Invitation to the Dance studio in Murfreesboro and at the Murfreesboro Art League. A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and working with all types of children. I think children learn in different ways and have to conform to their teaching style. I was a slow reader but have learned ways to make reading fun. I hope to make reading fun for the child. I want the children to meet thier full potential of what they are capeable of. As a college graduate I have been driven to do my best to make sure every child is given the opportunity to have the very best education. I have loved education and the process of learning since I was a child. Due to family issues, I dropped out at in the 9th grade but due to extensive reading most of my life on many subjects, and being gifted intellectually, thank God, I was enrolled in college at the age of 16. Due to my age, I lacked the discipline needed to succeed then so joined the Army at 18 and finished first in my class in their HS program. I continued going to college in the evenings an weekends until I completed my Master's degree, meanwhile raising 3 children and running a certified home daycare.
