I gear my teaching style to the individual I am working with. In 14 years I have learned that even though a method may work for one student, it does not necessarily mean it will work for another. In the first few session I test a small variety of applicable teaching methods and adapt them as time goes on. I have been tutoring since in High School when my fellow classmates were not understanding the subject matter. In college I would help students by making study guides that listed detailed notes on the subject mater. Through my use of detailed notes and study guides the past can be connected to the present and the future. I liken history to a story there are so many interesting things that are either left out or forgotten.
