As a recent college graduate, I understand the demands and expectations of high level educational achievement. I earned two bachelor degrees from the University of Maine, BS in Secondary Education in Mathematics and BA in Mathematics, and I feel confident that education has prepared me to teach a wide variety of mathematical disciplines. In addition to my education, I have experience student teaching in multiple unique educational environments and taught mathematics ranging from 6th grade math to high school calculus. I am a college student who has taken calculus, calculus II, and multi-variable calculus. I have recieved A's in all of these classes and consider myself to be very capable of teaching high school level mathematics. My major is currently declared as Studio Art with a concentration in woodworking. I initially began study as an engineer and completed the first year of classes before deciding to pursue Studio Art with an intention to attend architecture school down the road. I still have an interest in both Engineering and Computer Programming, but such areas are currently more of a hobby than an expected profession. I am currently a Biology Major at the University of Southern Maine. I have completed my degree requirements for my BS, I’m finishing up by taking an additional 9 credits this semester before walking for graduation in the Spring, May 2011. During my four years in college I have taken 11 laboratory courses, providing me with extensive knowledge and experience in writing research papers, lab reports and scientific reviews. I have experience in math, reaching a Calculus level; completion of upper level courses in Chemistry, Statistics, and Physics; a variety of liberal arts courses. I was an assistant girl’s high school basketball coach for two years, and have been tutoring high school and college students in math and science for two years.
