I am currently the Math Coach at a local Middle School. I have been in the educational field for thirteen years as a math teacher. I have taught mathematics on the high school level and the middle school level. I have prepared students for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) and I have had great sucess helping students achieve passing scores on this test. I have tutored students in basic math up to algebra 1 and geometry. I am a teacher that teaches by showing examples and explaining. I prefer to work with children who have learning disabilities and/or with a dislike for education. I find that my teaching style is interesting to this particular type of student. I acknowledge the childs dismay in learning and I allow them to help me to adjust the teaching material to a teaching style that best suits the childs learning style. Science and english are subjects that many children don't enjoy. I make it much easier for them to learn the subject and then we expound thier knowledge from there. I graduated from UCF with a Bachelors in Communicative Disorders (speech therapy). I love english and science and found this to be a perfect mix. I worked with children with language delays in group settings and also tutored children individually.
