Since I was about six years old I have been going to the Santa Cruz Shakespeare festival. I love Shakespeare and I can understand it almost fluently. I also blended two of Shakespeare's plays in high school and created Much Ado About Macbeth. I would say my teaching style is really focused on the student and what they need. In school I was an average student never getting lower than a C or higher than in an A. So I really want to focus on listening to the student, especially because they probably are not heard at school. I want to make each subject interesting to the student, whether that means going out and playing basketball or chess or candy or anything the student absolutely loves. I have a diverse field of experience. I received a dual B.A. in Linguistics and Anthropology in 2006. This allows me to understand language tutoring at a deeper level than most tutors. This foundation has been augmented by 5 years of teaching experience in ESOL, History, Academic Writing, and Professional interview training which I have conducted all over the world. I graduated cum laude from the University of California, Irvine with a BA in history and minors in biology and psychology. Earning a history degree required me to write several essays, including a thirty-page research paper, and this experience made me a better writer (and eventually, a better teacher).
