Changing The World, One Child AT A Time

I was an assistant teacher to a 3rd grade class at Wilson's Mills Elementary from 2001 until 2003. My duties included assisted the teacher and helping the students in a manner to help them learn at their pace. And I also have an 8 year old son who attends River Dell Elementary. I help him on a daily basis with his homework, which includes math, reading and writing. I love kids and it brings great joy to my life to see the smile on their faces when they learn something new, or figure out the answer to a problem they are working on.

I have been actively involved in music since I was 5 years old. I have performed to crowds big and small, and have a vast experience in performing, teaching, composing and producing music. I received a Bachelor of Music, with Honors, from University of Ulster in 2008, a university based in Ireland, where I am originally from. There, I primarily focused on drum kit performance, but also had to write many analytical and research papers, along with composing music, and writing music using a computer. I received the equivalent of a 3.8 GPA.
I feel that many teachers today do not use the resources available today effectively, and this is something I strive to change in teaching. I use all forms of multimedia, like audio, video and books to get my students as broad a learning spectrum as possible. I enjoy teaching and working with children and adults. My first experience in education was with children's music classes, and have since enjoyed the opportunity to teach adults at the community college level. I would describe my style as adaptive. In my experience every child and adult requires somewhat of a different approach. After careful evaluation, a course is developed to meet the students needs.
