I believe teaching is best learned though practical examples (especially math). because I used to say the same thing that I'm sure that kids today are saying. My goal is to use a variety of methods in order to facilitate learning and retention. These methods will vary student-to-student. HOW I teach, however, remains constant for all students. Specifically, I start with the standards: what needs to be learned. Working backwards, I break the standards up into smaller concepts.
