Experience Summary
I graduated summa cum laude in the Honors College at Missouri State
with a degree in cell and molecular biology and extensive studies in
math and physics. I have been working as a private tutor in math and
science for 10 years, working with students in upper elementary
through college. I have been a certified teacher since 2009, and I
currently teach 5th grade math.
Teaching Style
My first responsibility is the empowerment of my students. I always want my students to have a concrete sense of motivation and what their goals are, even if it's just getting a passing grade. Next, I want my students to believe that they are capable of reaching their goals. If they are capable of performing under one set of circumstances, it's possible to perform under any set of circumstances, especially tests. After that, we get down to the brass tacks of learning: How the student learns best, what strategies we can use, and how much building or remodeling we have to do.
