A Little Bit About Me...

Upon enrolling my children in school, I decided to be an active part of their education. So, I assisted their teachers with everything I could. Eventually, I became a trusted part of the school system (an honorary teacher, so to speak). They began giving me more responsibilities, concerning the children of the school. I tutored hundreds of students to increase their FCAT results, single-handedly; I corrected documents, daily; I worked on setting up the computers for the teachers and students, and I trained both to use them. I even learned magic, so that I could help teach the students their studies, in a fun and exciting way. I have been told by my first year teaching mentor that my style of teaching is "unconventional". Although I majored in English, I had a concentration in creative writing and a minor in visual arts. I think of writing as an art, and so I use creative methods in the classroom to teach students. I graduated with a BS in theology because I felt it was interesting as much as it was challenging! A reason for this is because I've always helped youth in a para-ministry setting (volunteer/paid) and found a knowledge of Theology helped a great deal.
