Each individual has a distinct learning style which must be recognized in order to promote and facilitate better learning and achievement, it is essential that a teaching style in the format of tutoring match the students learning style.
Have experience in all subjects listed as I have completed these courses myself; as a communications major I've worked in public relations and media though I have extensive freelance writing experience. Prior career experience includes non profit and healthcare related management as well as other positions which I believe have been important in obtaining the abilities needed to communicate successfully in many ways; this will directly assist me in tutoring though this is a new area for me outside of my home.

A Little Bit About Me...

I really do not have a teaching style yet. A one on one setting is what I am used to. I am open to different teaching techniques depending on the help the child requires. The internet is available and has many different techniques to learning different subjects I can research as I see fit.
I have just received my BA in E-Business management with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am beginning my Masters in Criminal Justice in March and will continue to a Dr. in the same field when possible. I am certified to teach both math and reading in Florida. I am particularly strong in helping students to understand the basics. I became a teacher because I feel that I can make a positive difference in my students' lives while providing them quality instruction from a teacher who truly cares. I have been told by my first year teaching mentor that my style of teaching is "unconventional". Although I majored in English, I had a concentration in creative writing and a minor in visual arts. I think of writing as an art, and so I use creative methods in the classroom to teach students. I believe our youth's attention span is getting shorter and shorter due to television/media and modern day technologies. As a teacher, it is imperative that you hold the child's interest. I believe in incorporating these technologies into the classroom, and relating material in the easiest terms and to things they already know.
