A Little Bit About Me...

I love math, but I am a Chemistry major at MSSU because i didn't find any attractive career as a Mathematician. I tutor a lot, mostly to y friends. I can help in pretty much any general subject like math, philosophy, drawing, painting, geography, and some English as well. I speak English, Gujarati, Hindi.I had my friends tell me that i should be a teacher because they like my teaching style. I think as a student i understand how to explain what they don't understand because i can put myself in same sue as the other students. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe teaching is best learned though practical examples (especially math). because I used to say the same thing that I'm sure that kids today are saying. When am i ever going to use this in my daily life? Its important to let them see the applications from knowing calculus based formulas to predict market declines (algorithms), to basic math in in inventory work, to understanding complex words and their proper sentence usage so they can understand what rudimentary or neophyte means in a job interview. Also, its important to inspire. most of the children/ teens in a tutoring course have been discouraged due to the fact that they are not picking up on a subject as quickly as their peers. That why its understandable that if they have someone to look up to, as i did, in a particular course they tend to do better and go beyond what they though originally possible.

I believe every child can learn anything, it is just a matter of understanding how each child's brain functions. Some students learn by example and repetition, while some need hands-on activities in order to process the main concept and remember it. I do believe that every student needs plenty of practice in order to maintain the knowledge of each lesson. I believe this practice should include guided practice as well as independent practice so that I can understand each student's thought process. Although I have only been teaching in a classroom setting for the last two semesters, I have spent a great deal of time teaching friends and fellow students over the years.
