I am very good with children in all age groups and have been lucky to have the priviledge and tutor English for a neighbors child. In addition I am fluent in German and Polish and am passionate about languages and would like to teach German.

For my first experience in teaching, I worked with both high school and elementary school students who were learning disabled and in need of help. I used the Orton-Gillingham method for dyslexia and found that it really seemed to work well to suit the student’s needs. From there I went on to work two years in resource rooms working with middle school and high school students in a one-on-one and group setting for intense tutoring. My teaching style is dynamic, it revolves around the learning styles of the student. However I would consider myself to be an exciting and motivating academic facilitator. Consider the following scenario: Anne is taking German 101. She loves German, however has failed two of her midterms, subsequently she asked for my help. So I introduced myself to Anne and assured her that German is easy and she was capable of passing her upcoming exam. The next step I used, was to determine her learning style, I did this by asking questions about her preferences to learning. I determined that she was an auditory learner there for we made audio tape of our tutoring sessions and Anne was able to achieve her goal of passing her exam.
