Use of teaching materials is very important in my teaching. There are methods for teaching children to read and to do math that use materials sold by companies. One way to find out about teaching materials to use is to ask people who have home schooled. I started substitute teaching in September 2001 in the Greenville County School District in Greenville, South Carolina. The Greenville County School District uses a computer system to contact teachers to substitute in schools which starts calling substitute teachers at 5:30am on the school day.
