Experience Summary
As a liberal arts college graduate, I was educated in multiple subjects, with a focus on the importance of integrating curriculum. I have earned two bachelor degrees, one in Visual Arts and the other in English with Academic Honors. Being an English major, I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing and editing four years worth of literary and expository research papers. I have experience tutoring students from elementary to college levels in English and literature, music, visual arts, mathematics, social studies, and history. I pick up tutoring in new subjects quickly and easily.
Teaching Style
I love working with all age groups. I have three younger siblings that I have helped tutor through all levels of their educations. I have also tutored on a college level while in attendance at Presbyterian College. I am very patient, easy-going, and considerate. I emphasize the personal nature of the teacher-learner relationship. I teach by asking questions, exploring options with learners, and focusing on learner responsibility, independence, and initiative. I like to push my students to their fullest potential and encourage them to take unique approaches to their studies.
