I'm very laid back, but I know how to get results. I have always been a very disciplined student, but I realized pretty early in my academic career that unless I make the subject interesting for me, I'll never grasp the material. I make it a point to get to know every student so that I can personalize their learning style. The only way they'll learn and understand something is if they WANT to do so. I offer a different approach to things that students may not get in the classroom, to hopefully expand their interest in a subject they never thought they'd like. I recently obtained my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, where I graduated in the top of my class with a 4.0. I feel the best way to teach is to put yourself in the student's place. I realize that most science material is totally new to the student so the teacher must not assume that the student just "knows these things." You have to start from square one and explain the concepts thoroughly. The teacher should never move on to a new concept until the student has mastered the previous concept.
