I have helped hundreds of children learn to read!

I have been teaching elementary school for 14 years. I taught preschool for one year,first grade for 7 years, and was a K-8 Reading Intervention Specialist for 6 years. I have been tutoring students for 8 years. I have also worked with Special Education students during this time and students with learning disabilities. I was also a reading coach for teachers and DUBELS testing administrator for 6 years.

My comments on tutoring Language Arts : Certified language arts teacher in the state of Arizona, grades 7-12.

I have been a special education teacher in the Apache Junction Unified School District since August 2008 where I began as an inclusion teacher at Thunder Mountain Middle School as an emergency certified special education teacher. Optimistic communicator sharing a love of reading & writing

I worked as a tutor while doing respite work for United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County in California. I am proud to say that the young man I worked with the longest is now finishing his BA in justice studies at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Language Arts is one of my top subjects! Look at reading material as a menu in a restaurant. If you understand Language Arts, you can read between the lines and order something not listed on the menu that they can make for you.

I have been teaching K4-8 since 1994 as a substitute and certified teacher. I hold a BA in Computer Science, and Mathematics, and a Master in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. As an international student who came to the USA with no English, I found ways to help me learn and understand American Read and Writing Standards and graduated with honors. These tips can help anybody regardless of their background become a master reader and writer in two sessions.
As a teacher, I encourage students to learn the traditional methods of learning, then use them as a guideline and modifier them to find their own learning style. One-size-fits-all only work when it comes to tube socks!
