Striving to make the student feel comfortable is part of my basic repertoire of teaching strategies. I know that when a student does not succeed in a typical classroom environment it is easy for the student to feel negative about learning. Our society is based on the 'cookie cutter' ideology one size fits all. So when I tutor I strive for the student to feel comfortable first. Then I observe the students way of learning and I tailor my style to fit the student. As a psychology graduate I have a deep desire to help children both academically and socially. Prior to becoming a psychology major I spent two years studying Early Childhood Education.
