I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry. I spent one year in an Americorps program called City Year in which I tutored/mentored at risk youth in an Algebra 1 intensive class in Miami, FL. I am currently in school to get by masters in education so I may teach chemistry. I have volunteer experience doing homework help with youth in various after school programs in both Erie, PA and Miami, FL.

I use all the main teaching tools. Both hands on and visually for those students who need different tools. I love to interact with children and adults helping them through their classes to better their future. I also enjoy having a hand in their future success. I truely believe that a great teacher is one who teaches for the greater growth of their pupils and personally I strive to help them succeed. Everyone learns differently. I think by involving as many of your senses you are able to learn and retain information better. Teaching information and giving examples that are relavent to the student's life and experiences help teach the student that learning is important.The advances in technology and utilizing these resources are very important. Computer animation and pictures are amazing tools for any student, especially students that learn visually. The education system is going in the right direction by thinking outside the box.
