Through my years in my last position I was able to witness firsthand how different teaching styles worked well for different children. The one common factor was that if I could make it fun and add an element of hands on type activities the lessons were retained better. Since I earned my K-6 teaching license, I have worked with children in several different instructional/mentor/tutoring positions. I worked as a teaching assistant in Fifth Grade and First Grade. While completing my undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at University of Idaho, I was often called upon to tutor people within the building where I lived during college. I also was employed by the University to grade papers and offer assistance to underclassmen in the Chemical Engineering department. I have earned a bachelors degree in Chemistry from East Tennessee State University. I have more than 100 hours of volunteer experience in all fields of area due to being in organizations like Alpha Phi Omega, Phi Sigma Pi and President's Pride throughout my college career. I believe I'm qualified to teach computers because I use it everyday and know basically most of all the Microsoft Office.
