A Little Bit About Me...

I was a teaching assistant at North Georgia College and State University for three years. I assisted with laboratory sections of biology courses and taught them in the event of a professors absence. I provided department funded tutoring services during that time as well. I have taken the GRE and Biology Section of the GRE and received excellent scores on both tests in only one sitting. I have also coached 4H horse quiz bowl and horse judging teams for several years working with elementary and middle school age children.

A Little Bit About Me...

I try to use as many resources as are available. What I mean is, in the Anatomy and Physiology labs there were models available to look at. I’ve used molecular models in Organic Chemistry for chemical structure. Sometimes asking a question can start the process of learning. A lot of it depends on the subject matter and the student involved. I try to remain open in my efforts to help others.
While enrolled in Anatomy and Physiology, my professor asked if I would be interested in becoming a tutor in the class. At that moment, I felt both a strong desire to help others and the fear of letting others down. I accepted the tutoring position because my passion for learning and helping others won out. I have had several opportunities over the last few years to help my co-workers with their adult education and not only am I able to help, they always return to me when they need more help.

While completing my undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at University of Idaho, I was often called upon to tutor people within the building where I lived during college. I also was employed by the University to grade papers and offer assistance to underclassmen in the Chemical Engineering department. I have earned a bachelors degree in Chemistry from East Tennessee State University. I have more than 100 hours of volunteer experience in all fields of area due to being in organizations like Alpha Phi Omega, Phi Sigma Pi and President's Pride throughout my college career. I believe I'm qualified to teach computers because I use it everyday and know basically most of all the Microsoft Office.
