My goal is to help children in any context that I can. Although I have my sights set on being a pediatric neurologist, my vision encompasses more than this end. First, the mind can develop a concept or help map out the ideas by seeing the picture to the learning task. Second writing helps to reinforce the concept or idea. As an educator, especially in mathematics, I want my students to not just arrive at the right answer, but understand the process, as well. I want students to have a solid foundation in number theory. I also want them to see the connection between the more elementary levels of mathematics and the more abstact higher levels. I usually spend some time and effort working on the organizational skills of the student, especially if I notice a weakness there. Many times the lack of those organizational skills becomes a detriment to math problem solving. A Little Bit About Me...

I like teaching students by explaining the material in a way I think is easiest to understand. I always emphasize how the material relates to what students already knows and how they can use what they know to solve problems. Often students cannot see how what they are learning can ever be useful in real life situations so I also try to give examples of when they might use what we are covering. Most importantly I am still a student myself I find I always learn better with examples so I always try to work through plenty of examples.
I am currently a graduate student at the University of Missouri. I am working on dual masters in economics and statistics and just finished year one of two. For some children, some subjects are hard to understand. Children can get frustrated just by not being able to understand the subject matter. My approach is to alleviate that frustration by going through the steps slowly and demonstrating these steps several times. In addition, I allow students to go through the steps on their own with my assistance so that I can catch any mistakes that they make. I am patient, and I find creative ways for children to learn. Since I have been coaching, I knew that I wanted to continue with passing on my knowledge to others. I believe that through teaching the passing of my knowledge can be most rewarding.
