I believe each student is different, therefore their learning style is different. Patience is of utmost importance in working with children, especially in the educational setting. Children need constant guidance and motivation and understanding in order to be academically successful; and success is measured differently for each student.
I have a Bachelors degree in PSychology and a Masters degree in Social Work specializing in working with children/families. When I worked in Korea as an English teacher I tried to teach my students on as much of an individual basis as possible given the classroom settings I was working in. I would try to guide the students toward the correct answers whenever possible so as to let them discover the information on their own rather that have it told to them. This gives the students a feeling of accomplishment which helps them to maintain an interest in the subject and learn more naturally. I also believe that when student are doing well they should be rewarded with positive feedback from the teacher, and that the teacher should maintain a patient and positive attitude with all students.
