Education is the process of guiding children or adults in the experience of learning meaning of things. In other words, teaching words without establishing a proper sense of the meaning of those words dulls the intellectual life. I believe everyone can learn if they are encouraged to seek the significance of the subject they are learning. Moreover, each time a child improves in regard to their motives and vitality while learning, a greater sense of accomplishment can be experienced by both the teacher and the student.

When teaching, I want to instill in each child a love for learning. I do this, first of all, by setting the mood of the classroom - meaning, I make it conducive for learning with an attitude of happiness and respect for each child; believing that I can find attributes that I like about each child, and making the atmosphere pleasant, cozy, and fun. Secondly, I instill the class rules with positive outcomes so the environment is always positive. Usually this takes about a week of consistency, then my class is ready to take off! Once they know the rules, know you are going to be consistent, and enjoy coming to your classroom, then, learning is fun!

I believe learning is about confidence. I have seen numerous students doing poorly in courses because they were convinced that they were not capable of learning the subject matter. Small successes help to build confidence in order to move on to the subsequent challenges. I believe in starting with the basics, and making sure that the students truly grasps the subject matter before moving to more difficult concepts. Often, it takes several different approaches before a student is able to understand the concept. I believe that with patience, I can find the right approach and help most students perform at a higher level.
