I want to help those who may not otherwise speak, vocalize their own narratives and cultural idiosyncrasies through discovery of literature and language. Empathy, which is vital to tutoring, is as vital, if not more, to teaching. I not only do my best to usher students gently through the writing process, I shut up and listen to their stories. As a student at UofU and BYU I tutored and was tutored myself. While attending BYU I worked in the student advisement center part-time, mentoring and helping students develop their schedules, and tutored them in subject matter from courses I'd already completed. I served as a volunteer representative for the LDS church for two years in Denmark and Iceland. I speak fluent Danish and Norwegian, and I taught extensively on many topics to all age groups while over there. I've tutored other students, friends, and family in math and math-related fields(up to calculus III level math). I excelled at Math and English composition in school. At my current job I train new team members in restaurant operations as well as handle restaurant finances. I currently work as a manager for Romano's Macaroni Grill in Provo, Murray, and Salt Lake.
