Younger students catch on very quickly to what it is I am teaching. If they don't catch on quick, then no problem. I'm very patient and never give up until a student understands the concept. A Little Bit About Me...

Having homeschooled my children (eldest is attending a top 20 public university)and volunteering extensively in the school community, I have become familiar with a wide variety of learning styles. My legal background has prepared me for tutoring in that I am able to effectively communicate with the student and present the material in a manner conducive to a learning experience(similar to explaining legalese to a lay person). Above all, I strive to ensure that the student has a true understanding of the materials, as opposed to simple memorization. I strongly encourage the student to take an analytical approach to learning, and to view both sides of any issue so that true understaning of the subject matter is achieved.

When I teach I also learn from my students. I am open to ideas and creativity. I am patient and I believe a child should never be forced to learn. Learning should be exciting and it is the right of a student to progress at his or her own pace.
I graduated with a degree in English while devoting time teaching kids and even adults martial arts.
