I am earning my BS in Business Administration and have gained an understanding in many areas of computer technology, arithmetic, English, and science. My teaching style is very similar to how I was taught, lots of examples with guidance. I was never given the answer, but given all the tools to necessary to complete the task. In most math courses, the problems themselves are not what you have to worry about, but the clock is the real problem. Therefore, lots of example and building confidence from those examples would be my ideal teaching style. While earning my degrees, I was inducted into a honor society with emphasis on helping the engineering students in our department in several way. Our focus was working with companies for future jobs and offering free tutoring every week for all computer and electrical engineering courses that were junior level and below. My strengths are in teaching lower level math and statistics to students who don't "get" math. I have an easy-going, patient personality, and I firmly believe there is no such thing as a bad question. I am good at breaking math down to it's most basic level, and going through every step to ensure that you don't get lost. If a particular concept isn't making sense to you, I will try to find another (and another, and another...) way to explain it until it does make sense. I am a graduate accounting student at NIU, emphasizing in the study of taxation. My undergraduate accounting degree is also from NIU. I am currently studying for the CPA exam. I have been a graduate assistant for a taxation course and a managerial accounting course. I have tutored business statistics and financial statement auditing.
