I am fluent in ASL from my years attending Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. I dream in sign. Worked as an interpreter since 2005. My studies in linguistics (presented at Harvard's first Linguistics conference in 2003) give me particular insight into the structure of the language and make it easy for me to identify and explain mistakes, so that you can see the bigger picture. I took voice lessons for a semester during my senior year of college. I regularly practice singing and write music. I always liked playing up my quirky personality. My favorite teachers and professors were the goofy ones, the ones who can relate to the students' fun side. These teachers also challenged me the most, and I ended up getting so much more out of the course. I figure that, if a student likes the teacher, he or she will pay more attention and have a deeper respect for the teacher. The teacher then can use this trust to push the student a little more, intellectually. I find that is what works best for me. I don't any paid, professional tutoring experience. I like being able to relate with my students. I make learning as entertaining as possible and will be able to go at any pace. i am great with patience. I have 3 younger siblings. I am always helping with them with homework and am always the first to be asked to help another student in my classes.
