I am a Masters candidate at UW-Madison studying public affairs. I've previously taught test preparation courses for the LSAT and GMAT, and am also very knowledgeable about the GRE, ACT, and SAT. I'm very comfortable teaching individuals or small groups, and have significant knowledge about political science, government, history, and social studies in general. I prefer to have materials prepared prior to any tutoring session so communication ahead of time will be essential. If I have an idea of what is expected of me then I am able to help modify the session to fit the learner. I like to use both direct teach as well as discussion to help guide the tutoring session. I have formally tutored with Madison College on two occasions lasting a year. I was also Tutoring throughout my time at Edgewood on a drop in basis with any students that came to the math department and could not reach a professor. I have a BS in Mathematics and doing math at all levels is fun for me. I enjoy helping students work through tough problems by allowing them to make mistakes and then rework the problem a couple of times the correct way.
