I am currently a Biology Major at the University of Southern Maine. I have completed my degree requirements for my BS, I’m finishing up by taking an additional 9 credits this semester before walking for graduation in the Spring, May 2011. During my four years in college I have taken 11 laboratory courses, providing me with extensive knowledge and experience in writing research papers, lab reports and scientific reviews. I have experience in math, reaching a Calculus level; completion of upper level courses in Chemistry, Statistics, and Physics; a variety of liberal arts courses. I was an assistant girl’s high school basketball coach for two years, and have been tutoring high school and college students in math and science for two years. As passionate of a student as I am, I equally enjoy being an active part in another’s understanding and learning towards a new and challenging subject.

I will be graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in May 2010. I also have a minor in teaching and will continue in the teaching field through a Masters Degree program at UNH this coming fall. I have some experience tutoring students. In the spring of 2008 I was involved in a program called Seacoast Reads through the University of New Hampshire. In the program I tutored a second grade student in reading. Being a recent graduate of a university I am able to relate to students and understand the academic setting. I enjoy teaching and am motivated to help students achieve results in the form of grades and understanding. I think each student has their own learning style and finding that is important to the teaching process. As a recent graduate of a high ranking tech school with my BS in Business Administration and Materials Engineering I am very familiar with the academic setting and learning styles of various students. My areas of study require me to be familiar with high level mathematics and science in addition to an understanding of communication skills in both technical writing, such as lab reports, and business communication techniques. I was an outstanding high school athlete and was awarded an athletic scholarship to play basketball and more importantly get an education. I earned a bachelors degree in Biology and went back and earned a degree in Secondary Education. I have successfully taught and coached at all levels for 20 years.
