Experience Summary
I was an outstanding high school athlete and was awarded an athletic scholarship to play basketball and more importantly get an education. I earned a bachelors degree in Biology and went back and earned a degree in Secondary Education. I have successfully taught and coached at all levels for 20 years. I gained the overall experiences of dealing with students in and out of the classroom. I earned a masters of Science degree and tutored math and science professionally at the collegiate level. I enjoy giving back all the lessons that I have learned along the way.
Teaching Style
I believe in the expression “that you have two ears on one mouth for a reason, in that you should listen twice as much as you speak.” You have to know what the problem is before you can begin to solve it. I learned to be patient, understanding and compassionate when dealing with a student’s learning style one-on-one. I have acquired the skills to adapt to an individual’s unique learning style by using their other senses. A student will learn most effectively by utilizing various parts of the brain by seeing it, hearing it and writing it down. And, just like learning a new person’s name, you have to repeat it over and over again in your head until it becomes learned.
