A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Contemporary Writing and Production, I used my AP-level English background to tutor international students at the college in English reading, writing, and speaking. Throughout my education, I have continually excelled in my English courses, studying everything from the classics to modern styles. I should mention that it is not my way to enforce memorization for the sake of it. If you understand concepts, that is much better. I always say “an example is the embodiment of a rule”. I have been a professional musician since 1978, teaching other musicians theory, performance etc. What can I say? I grew up in a music store! I've taught guitar, bass guitar, piano, drums and piano technology. Most of my students are now professional musicians. I don't use any techniques out of any book, each person is different and their needs are also.
My father had a piano rebuilding shop and I worked for him begining at age 12, in every aspect of piano rebuilding, regulating and tuning. Do I need to say more? Over 40 years of working on pianos is more than most piano tuners have. I don't use tuning machines, God already gave me 2 on each side of my head that work much better. I could write a long paragraph of blah blah trying to impress you but over 40 years of pianos says it all.

Teaching has been a productive and varied part of my life. I've worked as a substitute for nearly 18 years(1974-1992) in the Champaign-Urbana area school districts in Illinois, as well as a private music instructor, and as a class guitar instructor before moving to Nashville in 1996.
