For the past seven years I have studied mathematics. Most of those years were spent at Wichita State University. I received my M.S. degree in mathematics while studying dynamical systems under Christian Wolf. I worked as a graduate teacher by instructing courses in Algebra, Trigonometry, etc and by tutoring in all mathematics courses offered at the university through the Calculus sequence. More recently, I have privately tutored students in Statistics, Calculus, Algebra, and GRE preparation in Asheville, NC.
I approach every student as a unique individual with his or her own struggles. In general, I teach mathematics in a direct and simple way. I do not treat the subject as a game or a bag of tricks. I grew up in Jamaica and my formal years of education were under the british system. This sytem was very student friendly and much emphasis was placed on learning and not testing. I have earned a Bachelors degree double major in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of the West Indies Jamaica. A masters degree in Science Education 5-12 from Western Governors University Utah. I also completed my teacher education requirements at University of North Carolina Pembroke. I have over 12 Years of teaching and tutoring experience, I have taught in the North Carolina Public education system for the last 5 years, and is liscensed to teach all the Sciences from grades 5-12.
