A Little Bit About Me...

For the past seven years I have studied mathematics. Most of those years were spent at Wichita State University. I received my M.S. degree in mathematics while studying dynamical systems under Christian Wolf. I worked as a graduate teacher by instructing courses in Algebra, Trigonometry, etc and by tutoring in all mathematics courses offered at the university through the Calculus sequence. More recently, I have privately tutored students in Statistics, Calculus, Algebra, and GRE preparation in Asheville, NC.
I approach every student as a unique individual with his or her own struggles. In general, I teach mathematics in a direct and simple way. I do not treat the subject as a game or a bag of tricks. I am very patient and encouraging with a lot of positive feedback. I design my lessons by looking at the specific needs and learning styles of my students with welcomed input from their parents and teachers. Each session is filled with very interactive activities including educational games which I tailor to meet individual needs.
